About the artist

Meraki By Hamer is a first-generation B.F.A graduate in Experimental Animation from the University of Central Florida. She was born and raised in Miami, Florida with her Venezuelan family.

As an artist, she is always motivated to create visual artworks that portray multi-faceted ideas that have a connection with her audience. Meraki’s aim is to always “think outside the box” to catch the viewer’s attention and give them the ability to interpret her work in their own ways. Meraki By Hamer strongly believes that art is everywhere and therefore is free and definitely something that shouldn’t be taken for granted. Not only does she create artworks for her school assignments, projects, and portfolio, but as well as some freelancing commissions.

She has teaching experience from ages 1-18 years old and has participated in several local Orlando art venues, and was interviewed by a local Miami magazine. As for the near future, she intends to build her professional career, expand her freelance business, and become more involved in the art community.
