In a dim lighted, hollow yet comfortable room, a little girl is sitting down on her bed. She is feeling sad and fearful and is pondering why.
*Sound of tears falling, muffled crying softly from a distant*
The little girl hears this and grabs her candle. She turns around and raises the light toward the ceiling.
*The walls are slowly shaking, acting almost as if they were crying and feeling lonesome*
The little girl feels empathetic for the walls. She reaches out and caresses gently the quivering surface.
“It’s okay, I’ll be your friend.”

This story, book and artwork represents healing, acceptance, vulnerability and self worth. As I have become open an active to healing from life, I have realized that I have not been my own friend for many years. Having these high walls up have closed access to my own self, and my inner child is clinging for love and care.
The young girl inside the adult female is the inner child of herself. The little one is feeling sad and alone, hears a cry from afar, and becomes sympathetic, reaching out to help it without judgement. The adult female doesn’t realize at first, her cries for help are heard and she allows herself to experience without fear.
