Kalon

(n.)

the kind of beauty that is more than skin-deep

.

This painting represents the acceptance of oneself both body and mind. In the common phrase “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” this painting is becoming the beholder of your self and who you are.

It’s a self-portrait as a statue, as I was inspired by Greek sculptures. These sculptures and culture were inspired and awed by every fold, muscle, a curve that embodied angels, goddesses, and even people. It was viewed highly and beautifully within all these types of bodies.

.

We are made up of many parts, including stardusts and constellations. We are all a work of art.
